Fabrics
All our designs for curtains are printed to order in our Auckland studio. You can decide on either our high performance polyester base, Mara, or our natural European linen, Lucia.
Mara is 100% polyester drapery suitable for all applications. A vivid print and high colour saturation on this linen-look weave gives depth to designs. Mara is washable and commercially fire-rated.
Lucia is 100% linen drapery suitable for residential applications. This luxurious natural drapery adds warmth and sophistication to our prints.

Linings
Linings are an important part of creating curtains. Not only to they add an added layer of protection for your chosen fabric, they also add structure and volume to your curtains. Deciding your linings will depend on your warmth and light filtering needs. Our curtains are available with three different lining options depending on your needs.
Polycotton Lining is our standard lining option. If you're looking for a standard curtain lining to protect and add volume to your curtain, and are not concerned with light filtering, this is the best option.
Thermal Lining is designed to add a layer of insulation to your curtains. Even if your not in colder areas of the countries, using a thermal lining can add to the energy efficiency of your space, keeping heat out in the summer and in in the winter.
Blockout Lining is a triple weave three pass blockout. As the name suggests, this lining is used for light filtering in bedrooms.

Measuring Your Space
Measuring for Roman Blinds
When measuring for roman blinds first decide if you're going to have your blind sit inside the recess of the windowsill or sit on top of the window.
For recess blinds, measure the width from side to side and the height from the top to the bottom of the inside of the windowsill. Be sure to select a recess roman blind when pricing your curtain.
For overlay blinds we recommend a 5cm overlay on each side of the window. Measure from 5cm above the windowsill to 5cm below and the same from side to side. Be sure to select an overlay roman blind when pricing your curtain.
Measuring for Curtains
Our curtains are supplied with a standard white curtain track. We recommend your curtain track sits 5cm above the top of your window and travels 10cm to either side of the window.
Measure the width of your track by marking 10cm either side of the window and taking your measurement to each mark.
Deciding your height is an important step in the finished look of your curtain and there are a few options. Mark your track at 5cm above your windowsill and determine your height with one of the following.
Sill length - Measure to the top of the windowsill at the bottom of your window.
Over sill length - Measure to 5-10cm below the bottom of your window<
Floor length - Measure to 0.5cm above the floor
Puddled - Measure to the floor and add 15cm
Once you have determined your width and height head to the curtain builder to create your curtain.
